For all of you that remember Alicia. A young women's desperate cry for help (via Internet) back in October was answered on November 3rd, by two angels Tad Stringam​ and Tami Rather Scarcella Stringam​ . These two incredible loving, understanding and compassionate individuals, whom we love and appreciate for all of their efforts, determination and love to help Alicia find the much needed help. Alicia left a video to thank you everyone who was involved to help find her help. The process was a roller coaster for all involved, from relapses to emotional eruptions, came to an end on November 3rd with only two calls, we found ourselves at Salt Lake Airport and Alicia on a plane to California to a fabulous facilitate, Anaheim Lighthouse Drug Addiction Treatment Center Lighthouse Alicia wanted to this share this RAW video for 3 reasons; first so people could look at addiction straight in the face, in hope it will help others that find their selves in her same shoes and give hope that it's possible to get help (get better in Alica's words).

Alicia has successfully completed her detox program and knows it will be a long road but she says that she is willing to take the journey. We will continue updating on Alicia's progress throughout her journey.

Terrific Tuesday!!!

Utah Girls Love You  is developing into a non profit organization designed to help and encourage single moms, senior citizens, and the homeless.

Our number one goal is to help Utahans first and foremost.

U.G.L.Y. has  developed two main projects that we hold near and dear to our hearts.

The Helping Hands  and  The Single Mommy’s projects.

Our Helping Hands project is geared towards seniors and less-fortunate Utahans. Offering a helping hand to those in need. Helping  senior citizens with yard and house services at no cost and helping the homeless by collecting donations and distributing them back into the community. We have  items such as blankets, shoes, books, and the Bags of Hope we contribute  at Christmas time filled with rain ponchos, socks, toothbrushes, mouthwash or toothpaste, hand warmers, and beanies. We are always grateful  for the items donated for the bags of hope. to be new items and we also collect monetary donations as well.

The Single Mommy’s project is geared towards helping single moms by mentoring, finding necessary resources needed, building confidence, helping to develop their independence, self worth, education and also helping with clothing and household items from donations we have collected from the community.

Single Mommy’s Project is continuously trying to help  single Mommy’s who struggle with the everyday issues. Such as how to feed their children .How to keep a roof over their children’s heads. and How do I get out of this situation? ...the list goes on and on.

These are questions many moms have that we have worked with in the past and currently are  working with on a daily basis. Helping these individuals find hope and encouraging all  through hard work, and determination shows that with having faith...anything is possible.

UGLY is extremely ecstatic with the direction Utah Girls Love You is headed. Thank you so much for all the love and support thus far..

But understanding that our Reaction to the negativity… is key to changing the negative into a positive.  With U.G.L.Y. starting from the basement floor and still having the passion and drive to stomp our way to make differnces here in Utah… is truly ourULTIMATE goal for U.G.L.Y.

We are pushing to spread the word and give our message. The message that has saved our lives and given us the strength to continue to grow our own personal goals. Being strong, educated, spiritual, giving individuals. Who are here to make the differnces needed to help anyone that will find growth, love, and happiness from our message.

So… time for trying new things, taking chances on yourself, and breaking down the walls in order to be yourself.

Love this quote and appreciate it everyday and wanted to share how important it is to support your friends with their passions. It's hard to continue with that passion, when you don't have the support from your friends. Starting U.G.L.Y. has been a huge challenge and not much support from friends and family but I would not allow the negative stop me (I think it fueled my fire more than anything but it opened my eyes to who my true friends really are at this stage in the game). I have to say the no support was hard, but very satisfying at the same time because I didn't give up on my passion. So, please support your friends in their new ventures, even if you don't get the entire picture, just support them with open arms...

We believe in breaking the cycle when it comes to our children but there's many things the old school ways have on this newer generation of parenting. I respect the fact that, we are evolving and growing as a society but we are losing the three key values: respect, manners, and to give. The values our grand parents, parents, and some of us now maybe, were taught are being stomped into the ground each day and we believe that continue with this trend of self centered, disrespectful and entitled children, we are up a creek without a paddle, for sure!!#

So, this pledge was developed to ensure that our children will be raised with some old and new school values, we fear that these values are being lost in the Generation-X and we want to ensure, we make a difference with our children’s and break this trend, that we have all developed as a society by pleasing our children, lets stop asking the kids what they want and do what they need. Please don't get me wrong, we are far from perfect, have many children of our own, we face challenges each and every single day with our kids as I'm sure we all do. But we have to say that we are struggling each day to stand back and not say something when we consistently observing children disrespecting their parents, teachers or even a random elderly, it's very sad and makes us very nervous of the direction our children are headed. So, we hope that you all will take this pledge and start with your children, hoping the break through this trend, that will only cripple our children later in life. U.G.L.Y. wants to wish everyone a fabulous and productive Friday.

This definition has been on my mind for some time now! I thought, we would share the meaning of codependency for today’s quote. This quote is more on a personal level, I remember the day, I realized, that I was taught codependency by all the key players in my life… especially my PARENTS. It can be a challenge when one has been taught negative influences and to develop strengths to overcome all the negative lessons in life to reflect the positive. Taking responsibility for my actions was the key in overcoming the obstacles, that I had no choice in and the obstacles I designed with my own two hands. So, understanding, taking responsibility, and making changes within you. These are three ways to become codependentFREE!!

Realizing that, I was codependent in every aspect of my life was hard to swallow. Once I accepted that fact, I had to change within myself and steer my children in the right direction (at least, I hope so) and hopefully change the pattern of our family. No matter  what challenges you have in life…, remember everyone has challenges,  just in different ways.

It is possible to change, through sheer determination I changed my life for my children, myself and all those I love. I have taken full responsibility for my actions and have now forgiven myself for all of the not so great choices in my life.. I feel that realizing and forgiving are the two of the biggest keys to change as a person. To evolve and be happy in this beautiful thing we call LIFE.

U.G.L.Y. Utah Girls Love You has developed a strong understanding of being grateful throughout the journey of helping make a difference in other’s lives. Offering a helping hand to others has been, frankly it has been an emotional roller-coaster with some cases okay most cases, but we are still so grateful everyday to have the learning tools and will-power to keep the engine riving and continue on our journey, to make chance possible for those individuals, whom want to help themselves. So, remember it’s easy to say hi, node to acknowledge follow patron, and simply just being kind, but for real change it takes hard work, harsh realities and sheer passion to see true change and that it’s possible to help others, truly help themselves find their happiness.

So, please be grateful for the past and present and work hard for the rewards in the future, “happiness” which is the top on of my bucket list is to say, “I lived a happy life!”  It could always be worse!
