These pictures are of the Single Mommy’s Project giving back to our helping hands project, taking donated items; blankets, scarfs, shoes, clothing, bananas and bottled waters to a local shelter in Salt Lake and local thrift store. It was a touching experience for all of the ladies on various levels. Many of the ladies had never seen or been close to a shelter, let alone be up close and personal with a homeless person. It was an incredible experience to witness the change in the ladies’ eyes, looking at these individual’s circumstances homeless on the streets, which has to be lowest point of a person’s life, these ladies were able to see past some of their own obstacles and gain a sense of relief and understanding, that they have a choice in their future to fight through and make a difference starting with themselves. So, through merging the Helping hands and Single Mommy’s Projects, we meet many goals, showing how giving other’s, makes a difference in everyone’s lives for the better. The Single Mommy’s project is not only giving donations to single moms but it has now formed into a group of women, single mom and former single moms, encouraging and supporting one another to live positive, be kind, be accepting to diversity and make difference as a whole not just in one general area.
We have been on a mission here at Utah Girls Love You to offer a helping hand to whom wants take our gestures and make a difference in people’s lives with simple things such as; accepting and loving people no matter their status or circumstances. OUR GOAL IS TO JUST BE ACCEPTING TO ALL FELLOW UTAHNS, THIS IS SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT TO US AND TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN DIVERSITY, to be NONJUDGMENTAL, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST ALWAYS OFFER A HELPING HAND TO THOSE WHOM ARE NEED!!

U.G.L.Y. wants to wish everyone is a wonder and productive Hump day!! I have been so busy this week, that I realized, I wasn’t breathing at all. So, the challenge is to take a deep breath, let the oxygen get to our brains. I believe that you will be able to focus again and keep it moving.
U.G.L.Y. always wants you to the take the opportunity to give a helping hand, it does not take a lot to offer a helping hand, you know, it can be as simple as opening the door to help the fellow patron, nodding your head to acknowledge someone, and as little as a smile.

If you want change, do your part and vote November 3rd. Everyday, I hear others of my peers complain of how are government is ran or what they think should be done for change but when I ask them if they voted? 90% of the time the answer is NO I didn't vote, my vote wont make a difference. It's time to have our voices heard, it is critical that you get out register to vote and have your voice heard. Many of the individuals are of lower class and truly don't believe that their vote will not make any difference but they're wrong, it will make a difference. Until, we start becoming involved and start exercising our rights as American's citizen, change will not happen.... Register today!!!

This is a great quote by our beloved, brilliant and powerful poet Maya Angelou. I have said this quote, over and over again, lately. "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." This is hard to live by, because we tend to overlook behaviors by following only our hearts. Hey, I have an idea! Let's try to use your head in life changing decisions but always be compassionate to the issues by using your heart. Example one its huge one: When, you are searching for someone to fill the role as partner, we seem to fall for the physical attributes. As, we see signs of a behavior, that would possible bother you later, most people disregard them as nothing, and later down the road, no matter what, that behavior becomes a huge issue. Then, that issue is the reason for World War III erupting in your happy, happy home, which later you feel regret and great soar. But I see it as LIFE, how else do we really learn? The best lessons, I have ever learned from are the falls, I fell directly on my face, but I never let that fall stop me, I stood up, brushed it off my shoulder and I keep it pumpin'. We have to be honest with ourselves to have a meaningful relationship in life.
It's time to stop making the same mistakes over and over again!! Let's start with this first: do not overlook your red flags, address them (they're red for a reason and that reason is, because it bugs the s#** out you, just saying) but DO NOT overlook them, it seems to have away of coming back and biting you in the ass, later down the road. Be Real.

U.G.L.Y. wants to thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of love and generosity that has been shown for Alicia over the past few weeks. We have found her treatment our of state and we couldn't be more grateful to everyone, whom offered advice, information, and sheer love. Alicia has been staying with family, until she goes to treatment. That has been very difficult to watch, as she declines more and more each day, we can only pray, that she will make until she is able to check in to treatment. I have to say, that this process of helping someone that is extremely ill and doesn't have insurance is very difficult process to get immediate help, which is sad because of not having insurance, Alicia is hoping that her body will hold out until she goes to treatment. With several medical issues including seizures, liver, and addiction, which can not be really addressed until she is in treatment to detox. The signs are hanging clear in sight, the outcomes are very real and extremely scary but through pray and positivity, Alicia will make it to treatment and have a fighting chance to overcome her life long struggle of addiction. We feel it's important to give the details of the process, so people can truly see the life of addiction and the aftermath. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for all of helping hands, that went out of their ways to contact and inquire, how you could help with HELPING Alicia. We are starting something a little new here at U.G.L.Y. with giving our opinion on things we are finding out in the communities; the good, the bad, and theU.G.L.Y..
So, as we have been getting more involved with our community, we are horrified that the majority of our issues stem from addictions; pills and alcohol, and meth are the top three. Realizing, that we need to bring more awareness to this issue and stop acting as if it’s not our problem. Well, let us tell you something, addiction is not judgmentaland has no prejudices; it will take over your life no matter of race, religion, family status, or how much money you have. Addiction will take over your life in a blink of an eye. So, we need to start by Breakin the cycle of pretending it will not happen to you and make ADDICTION awareness one of our main priorities in our communities and get a handle on it before it’s too late.
